Selection tool and lasso tool not show area selection

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Load a portion of data map
2. Click on selection tool (or lasso tool) and drag this on map

What is the expected result?

A rettangle of selection or area lasso selection

What happens instead?

The points in selection are correcting selected and changed colour in red, but the area of selection is not show

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.
