After the amenity=sanitary_dump_station tag reached Germany, some alterations in the
tagging took place. Sorry. Here's the update, along with French German and Russian wiki page links.
There's also a waterway version of this: useful to me, but not everybody agrees.

If you've got a motorhome, the distinction is important.
Some dump stations you can fill your fresh water tanks, others you can't.
I agree that current water_point tagging is a mess.
drinking_water=yes/no does not do it, since that could well be a drinking fountain with no hose.

Yes, tagging a separate node is legitimate.
However, these are often integrated stations with a single coin slot for payment that opens both the toilet dump and the water point. See pictures from a German mapper here:
