Issue using my JOSM account

I had a JOSM account, my account name was "Barnes38".
I ve been using it for several months now, without problems.

Today, as I have a new computer, I had to enter the password fotr this account Barnes38, but I could not remember it.
Then I asked for a mail to reinitialize my password.

But each time I entered my Account Barnes38 and my email address desgranges.paul@…, it was said, that they do not match!

After a few tries, I decided to recreate a new account. I choosed the same account name Barnes38, and it worked!! As if my account never existed before!?

So I created it, and associated it with email address desgranges.paul@… again, and made what is necessary to verify my account, all worked well.

But at the end, I cannot log with this new account when using JOSM!

Can you check please?

I wish I can use my previous account Barnes38 (and not the new one created today with same account name), because I was to keep history of changes I have done before.

We constantly delete unused accounts - This means account where login was older than 200 days and which have never been used anywhere in wiki or tickets (see note on start page). I don't remember your account, but this looks much like such a case.

So best protection against this is to contribute to the JOSM wiki. :-)

And BTW you did not do a single change here so you can't have a history. Do you mix JOSM and OSM accounts (also see start page)?

No it was not a so old account , i ve been using it many times in the past months.
I do have a OSM and a JOSM accounts you are right to say. And you are right to say I may have mixed them, in fact I was speaking in Issue 11180 of 'barnes38' account, and not of 'Barnes38' account. This morning I created a new account 'Barnes38', but I wish I can still use the 'barnes38' account as I have all my hsistory in this account.
Thank you to see what can be done, to restore 'barnes38'

What do you mean with "all my history"? This webpage does not offer any form of history to the users. If you talk about OSM - we have no influence over OSM accounts at all. You need to ask at OSM directly. I think you mean this account here probably:

Modify Ticket

Change Properties
Set your email in Preferences
as closed The owner will remain stoecker.
as The resolution will be set.
The resolution will be deleted.

Add Comment

E-mail address and name can be saved in the Preferences.
