initial v1 1 Osx or apple has no word to say to java version since they finally agreed to let oracle lead java on their platform as it is the case on other systems. Believe me when I say that java 8 is globally better than java 7 for osx and that it will be soon the default version proposed by Oracle. Can you ease give it a try, it's a matter of seconds.
