ability to combine two (or more ways together)

It would be nice if there was a method of combining two ways. Say at the moment there is way A and way B, it would be nice if it could be combined so that all segments of way A & B were in way A, and way B was deleted.

I'm really saddened (horrified even) to see that this has been changed to be only a "minor enhancement" and has been open for longer than anything else still active. I have thousands of miles of tracks in New Zealand, due to a recent 4 week vacation. If I could rely on subsequently being able to combine ways together I could upload provisional data very quickly. Without this feature I have no motivation to do so, because I shall create too much work for myself.

I realise it must be very hard for you, all these people begging you to add to your workload, but this feature would be really really really appreciated by some of us (together with a "split way" that doesn't make changes to the ordering of segments).

users are allowed to change the priority, except when a prio-war starts. ;-) (which is better than adding a comment, as I usually check higher bugs more frequently)
