One question regarding splitting ways in JOSM. Is it really necessary to
select which of the two ways should be split if the other way uses the
split node as its start/end node? That way clearly cannot be split using
the selected node, so JOSM should ignore it when determining if there
are two or more ways sharing the same node.

Verified that JOSM unnecessarily prompts the user to select a way to split, even though there is only one way that can be split at the selected node.

To recreate:

  1. Select a node that is a start or end point for one way and a midpoint for another way.
  2. Click Tools.Split Way.
  3. Observe message: There is more than one way using the node(s) you selected. Please select the way also..

Can confirm this for build 761, I will look for a fix.
