What the summary says basically. Tooltips still work if you hover the mouse over the invisible buttons so it isn't a major issue. It's done it for some time, but never thought it worth reporting until we discussed it on #osm

  • Status changed from new to closed

This is a windows/java installation incompatibility. Nothing we can do anything about. Probably Java reinstallation will help.

Thanks for the quick reply. Reinstalling Java didn't help, but after some Googling I found:
​http://bugs.sun.com/view_bug.do?bug_id=6840086
which suggests a fix will be in update 18 when it is eventually released (16 is the current one that reinstalling installed). I may have remembered when the problem started wrongly too, as can't be 100% sure that it happened on Vista or not now.
