Description

A tool which allows the user to measure the distance between two arbitrary points in metres. One click starts the measurement, one ends it. The measured distance is persistent until the user clicks again or selects another tool.

Not sure where you'd display the measurement, though!

display the direction (in degree) of the line between the two points would also be helpful

I implemented a measurement plugin, which wants to be tested. Please check ​http://n.ethz.ch/~rmack/measurement.jar and send a mail if you have feedback.
