Description
Currently it displays fixed blue icon with number 41 and addr:housenumber below. Is it possible to display blank blue icon and real value as white text on top of it?
I have frequent "wait, why house number is set to 41 everywhere".

To display the housenumber in the middle of the node like an icon would be bad, because then you can not show it together with other icons like shop=*. So the housenumber itself needs to stay beside the node. To create an icon around the housenumber beside the node wouldn't look nice particulary for 4 or 5 digit housenumbers.
So the best solution for this is imo to just modify the current housenumber icon so it shows no number but is still recognizable as a housenumber sign. Or to completely drop the icon for housenumbers.
Note that there is also the Style Coloured Streets for checking address data which highlights the value of addr:housenumber.

Something like https://openclipart.org/detail/171822/blank-sign-by-gustavorezende-171822 (rotatet 90°)
I'm gonna test this.

Yes. This looks like an unreadable number. With really a lot fantasy it could be a 80 :-)

What about this (I changed a few pixels from the original icon, so it doesn't look anymore like 41):
Comparison (new icon top row):
Yes, it's an improvement.

Since the icon is applied, I allowed me to set the milestone and close this ticket. I hope it's ok.
Note that some housenumbers are unreasonably long - https://github.com/gravitystorm/openstreetmap-carto/issues/320
