    11To display the housenumber in the middle of the node like an icon would be bad, because then you can not show it together with other icons like shop=*. So the housenumber itself needs to stay beside the node. To create an icon around the housenumber beside the node wouldn't look nice particulary for 4 or 5 digit housenumbers.

    3 So the best solution for this is imo to just modify the current housenumber icon so it shows no number but is still recognizable as a housenumber shield. Or to completely drop the icon for housenumbers.

    55Note that there is also the Style [[Styles/Coloured_Streets|Coloured Streets]] for checking address data which highlights the value of addr:housenumber.
