    1 So, for linux it will of course be optional, like JWS. Most people does not need the launcher and they do not need to download it.

    3 I see only two reasons to have this for linux too: for distributions that does not have JOSM in repositories and for maintainig portable JOSM (laucher can be placed on USB drive togeteher with preferences, plugins, etc. and work correctly on all OSes).
