Enhancement [patch] Real progress bar monitoring during data update — at Initial Version

Description
The progress bar displayed during data update doesn't "progress" much. It particularly annoying during large data updates because you do not have any idea how long it is going to take.
Please find attached a suggested patch to correct that.
