    1 Also there is a reason that JOSM does not support automatic server restriction bypass. The restrictions are there to reduce server load. Bypassing them would result in the opposite.

    3 Usually the correct solution is to review the method you're working. E.g. by using download along as suggested by skyper.
     3Usually the correct solution is to review the method you're working. I see in another ticket that you look into Overpass API. That's more suitable for such work. Or even downloading excerpts and refreshing changed elements before any upload attempt.
