     8Because there are several issues like that (today #22159 and #22160) when {{{api.openstreetmap.org}}} is down, maybe the message "Please check your internet connection." may be misleading in such a case.

     10Several users are not aware that the other side may be unreachable (In #22160 the user claims, that the internet connection works fine). Maybe we should also give the hint, that api.openstreetmap.org is not reachable. Maybe add a link to check the status. Or smarter, we could check in such a case another URL (from OSM). If we can reach this host, the local internet connection seams to be ok, and we could directly point to a possible problem with the server.
