Description
I've noticed that untagged ways are no longer being detected by the validator.
To verify it, I reset my preferences file (preferences > advanced preferences > the 'more button' > reset preferences', closed josm. I then restarted josm again. (I typically use a jar file -
java -jar josm13315.jar
)
For testing; I downloaded a small area; created a 2 node line, untagged, ran the validator. It did not appear in the validator as I would expect. Other items (including a single untagged node that I created) did appear. I've attached my terminal output and the sample file.

It works for me with version 13315 with your test file. Please double check your enabled validator rules in the preferences and attach your status report.

Thank you for the very quick response.
Closing; upon further searching; I had a file named 'ignorederrors' in my ~./local/share/JOSM/validator folder; once I deleted it; the validations worked as intended. I don't have any recollection of how that got there; any idea what caused it?!
I also attempted to reimport my old preferences file but JOSM reported it as having errors and asked me to create a new one.
Have a good day.

It seems you once clicked on "ignore" for this type of warning in the validator panel on the right. This decission was stored in the file ignorederrors.
You can also open this file in a text editor to inspect its content. However since you already deleted it I think you can't anymore ;)

My terminal's output of running josm was rejected by trac for having too many links, so the link to it is at https://gist.github.com/skorasaurus/8883d6dcc9ec73a1bc80e92c327a648e
and the link to the osm file is at https://gist.github.com/skorasaurus/5d280c4727e5c7cdb2166bd5b3b1415f
