7584	"New plugin to simulate holding down the ""Ctrl"" button in JOSM"	rickmastfan67	team	"I'm curious, but could it be possible to create a plugin to simulate holding down the ""Ctrl"" button?  Something like this would be useful for tracing a new line when there are other ways/nodes in the same area that you don't want the new line to connect to.  Plus, it could help out people who are using a touchscreen and JOSM.

The main reason I would like a plugin to do this is to allow me to give one hand a rest when the other doesn't need it.  For some reason, my left hand (holding down the ""Ctrl"") always gets tired before my right hand (using the mouse) when I'm re-tracing a road or adding in a new road that parallels an Admin boundary (or something similar).

The way I imagine this working is simple. When you install the plugin, it creates a button in the toolbar at the top of the screen (or on the left of the screen).  When you click the button, it simulates you holding down the ""Ctrl"" button on your keyboard. When you unclick it, it simulates you letting go of the ""Ctrl"" button.  Simple as that.

If you guys think this would be a worthwhile plugin to create, I would greatly appreciate it.  Plus I bet some touchscreen people might be happy with it as well. ;)"	enhancement	closed	minor		Plugin	latest	wontfix
