The German translation reads ""inoffiziell"" - This is not true: while an informal path by definition is inofficial, this does not hold the other way around, there are lots of inofficial things, that are not informal ones.

The iD editor calls its preset that turns on the informal flag ""Trampelpfad"". This is more of a step from a word-wise translation, but it conveys the meaning quite easy to understand and is still much closer to the documentation than ""inofficial"" in the context of paths.
