Add time slider based on custom start/end tags

Hi all

Here is an idea I had while browsing time based geographical data.
OSM have start_date and end_date tags and despite destroyed/razed features are regularly removed from the db, it can be useful to edit a map corresponding to a given date.

Like the layer selector, would it be desirable to have a time selector?
It may filter features according to customisable tags (default to start_date and end_date).
Only features with no start/end or (start < time and end > time) will show on the map when selector enabled.

Can't that simply be done with the filters we have?

It's not a only a filter.
It can be good to properly select a date (or a time interval) and get at which time extent loaded data exists (if it has start_date/end_date defined)
