Description

How do I find out the properties of a gps point? I hover
over it, expecting to see the time/speed display in a tooltip,
or some other way of getting it, but I haven't found it.

Properties of GPS points are not imported into JOSM (except the timestamp of a point, which is considered a hack and will probably be removed sometimes).

For now, please use other GIS tools to work on details of gpx. For a mid-term solution, Frederick Ramm is working on a MarkerLayer (partly already included into JOSM), which could be extended to display additional properties to GPS-Points.
