hiding layer and changing opacity

I have two problems.

1. hiding the conflation layer is not working right away, at least the visiualisation seems to be some steps behind.
2. changing the opacity has no effect.

I'm not able to reproduce this problem, at least not with my test data file. Opacity and visibility change as expected. Please provide more details, and preferably a sample file.

Strange maybe a result of the other NPEs.

Can not reproduce it either.
