wrong layer renamed if renamed layer is deleted

Steps to reproduce:

  1. select any layer, click/f2 to rename
  2. type, or don't, doesn't matter, just don't hit enter or esc
  3. click "delete layer" button
  4. layer is deleted, but the next layer in the list gets the name you were just editing
