Description
This feature is already available in the relation editor, so implementation is probably trivial and existing icons could be reused. The idea is to display for a way if it is closed or not. This would be done on selection (history-tab), on middle-mouse-info, and possibly wherever a way-icon is displayed (bascially distinct icons for open and closed ways). The icon could be the same as in the relation editor. If you don't find this icon suitable I will make you a new one for this purpose.
Eventual problems: this feature might be a little more time consuming then displaying always the same icon, so it could/should be disabled is lots of ways get selected (e.g. select all, or select a big bounding box, or select by search).

Please also add an area icon, so we can make a type for multipolygon relations as well. Maybe also improve the one for relations.

OK, see attached files. I made 2 versions of the closed way icon. For the area-icon I am not sure. Maybe something with holes would be better? Have you seen my other tickets with the maxspeed icons and the cursor icons for select?

made another version which is more similar to the normal way icon (no nodes changed from the original nodes). I guess that this version looks better, as the others might be too de:"unruhig", but maybe see yourself in a test (select several different entities and see which one is best for a) aesthetics and b) reconnaissance / distinguishability

OK, added a relation-icon proposal. I guess the existing one is better, but decide you. I can't do it at the moment because I have to do other stuff, the relation is harder to express (abstract).

But it would be possible to implement this easily, when you provide an icon. The file trunk/images/data/way.png is the normal way.
