Again such an "it depends bug". Sometimes it is not possible to use <S> and <A> to switch between select and draw mode. Here as well I was not yet able to create a test case which allows to reproduce it reliable.

Everyone with more information please add it here.

Maybe it is because some side dialog is undocked and focused?
