#3427 closed defect (fixed)

JOSM can't keep many changesets open at once

Description

I tried to juggle many changesets at once with JOSM on the test server and wasn't successful.

  1. Make an edit and upload it as changeset #105, leaving it open
  2. Make an edit and upload it as changeset #106, leaving it open

At this point I have 2 open changesets on the server. But when I make a new change I only have the choice to add to changeset #106. If I do that and close it JOSM has seemingly forgotten that I have #105 open as well. I can not add to it in the upload dialog and "Close current changeset" in the File menu is grayed out.

JOSM supporting multiple open changesets would be very useful when you're making a large edit and suddenly feel like going off on a tangent to fix some unrelated problem you've noticed.

Very similar request to #3408. Perhaps a duplicate ...

It's not a duplicate. #3408 is a request for JOSM to remember changesets across sessions. This bug is a request for JOSM to support multiple changesets at the same time.
