Corrupted preferences on JOSM?

My father has installed JOSM on his Mac, but he can't seem to scroll around effectively (it scrolls too far) and the colours he is saying he sees are not the standard ones I can on my JOSM. I get the feeling that he may have corrupted preferences, but I can't find where they are stored on the Mac to delete them. He is using the Mac version of the package version 1669. Does anyone either know where I can find the preferences to delete them or whether this may be a different problem and therefore what to do about it?

The preferences have an option "reset to defaults".

MacOs is unixoid, so the refs file should be in <home>/.josm/preferences.
