JOSM hangs when I select nothing after adding attributes

When I've either created a new way or added attributes to an existing one, and then click into no-mans-land to select "nothing", JOSM hangs completely. There is no error message. If I first select something else, then nothing, it works.

This is repeatable in 1668 as well as 1632. Couldn't try 1607 as that comes up without icons.

I'm running Fedora Core 8. java is:

java version "1.7.0" IcedTea Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0-b21) IcedTea Client VM (build 1.7.0-b21, mixed mode)

This is sufficiently frustrating that it puts me off using JOSM again until it's fixed.

Please test Sun Java instead of IcedTea. This sound much like one of the many problems in these Java replacements.

OK I'll try Sun Java but I can't get it to start, need to work on that

OK, I just had a too old Sun Java, downloaded a new and it works now, seems to be faster too.

As a Sun employee, I should be ashamed of myself ;-)
