JOSM downloads gpx-points on upload

I noticed recently that JOSM is downloading automatically prior to uploading: but it downloads gpx-points as well, which is IMHO not necessary.

Cannot reproduce. JOSM does not dowload before uploading. Do you have some special settings somewhere?

Maybe I was wrong or this behaviour changed, it does not download any more (I always use latest). I never had any special settings that I was aware of (you never really know what goes on inside your computer though). Thanks for your answer.
