NullPointerException when receiving empty diff reply

Currently I have a problem uploading my data and after uploading the changeset the server replies with a 412 Precondition failed.

Besides this message itself isn't very helpful (but that's the servers fault) it still would be better than getting a dialogue titled "Nachricht" with the text "java.lang.NullPointerException".
In the past one got a StackTrace on Exceptions but, that seems to have changed.

I'm using JOSM 1566.
