shall solve conflicts, but list of conflicts is empty

It happens, that downloaded data conflicts with existing data. JOSM shows the warning "There were conflicts..." and lists the conflicts in the conflicts list. But sometimes this list stays empty after the warning was shown. So no conflict can be solved. Trying to upload new data to the server, the message "Solve conflicts first" is shown. But there are no conflicts listed and data can never be uploaded...

I think this happens if there are conflicts with relations.

Not to lose your date and to manage to upload them iy is possible to save the date in osm format, restart josm, open the osm file and upload the data.

It's not a duplicate of #1405. #1405 is a defect of the Validator, but #1726 is a defect of the conflict management system.

I found a way how to get this error:

• create a new way (minimum 3 nodes)
• create a new relation and add the way to the relation
• upload the way and the relation
• split the way
• download the area containing the way
• one conflict is shown in the conflict list, it's about the way, because it was split after uploading (btw. there's no text in the boxes of the two versions...)
• after solving this conflict, try to upload
• JOSM shows a message, that conflicts have to be solved first, but list conflicts is empty

Note for fixing: The empty conflict resolving either is the same problem or another one.

Whatever it is, empty conflict windows must be solved as well.

• Create new way with > 3 nodes
• Upload
• Split Way
• Download
• Solving impossible

For some reason the way needs to be created in one session, you need to draw a new one. I.e. downloading another way will not work.

As of 2009-03-01 both steps to reproduce work fine for me. Please check if you still have problems, otherwise this ticket will be closed after some time.
