#15779 closed defect (invalid)

"Overlapping identical landuses"

Reported by: dieterdreist Owned by: dieterdreist
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Core validator Version:
Keywords: template_report Cc:

Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

the validator warning about "Overlapping identical landuses" presumes that adjacent identical landuses should be mapped as a single object, but merging several into a single object reduces geometric detail (to which tagging detail can be added later, e.g. names of companies in industrial areas, or kind of trees in areas with many orchards).

What is the expected result?

What happens instead?

Whats the area where you get this warning? It doesn't warn about adjacent landuses, only about overlapping. Much likely there were two adjacent landuses where one of them misses a waynode, which resulted in a very small overlapp which can easiliy be overlooked.

As a general note, please always give the object numbers when you face a validator warning. We will nearly always ask it to reproduce/understand your problem.

Thank you, you are right, there was indeed a problem with a tiny overlapping part.
