Description

Dear colleagues,

the selection of the segments defining a bus or train route is a tedious task. Is there any possibility of reading a GPS track, matching it to an existing network of roads and extracting/selecting the OSM segments that have been "driven" in order to add them to the members of a relation of type=route?

What you're requesting is basically ​map matching for public transport routes. For an existing Java implementation, see ​https://github.com/graphhopper/map-matching.
