To add a link from the species tag to ​https://species.wikimedia.org something like the following code could be added in the wikipedia section.

        <rule>
            <condition k="species"/>
            <link name="View Wikispecies page" href="https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/%v%" />
        </rule>

But in my test I have got a wrong link with Quercus+rubra in spite of Quercus rubra.
